Yesterday's training was good.
Beat Jag first set, then totally died at the second, and came in kissing the rear of his boat on the third. Crap.
Just found out today that I've been using too much arm by inclining my angle of entry too much. I thought it would focus more force into the forward pull instead of sweeping, but apparantly at that angle the back and lats can't be used as much so I overkill my arms and forearms and that's why my damn forearm was cramping like hell yesterday.
Did a couple of T2 sets with Sebas after that, was pretty fun, trying out different strategies for the race. Then went to eat at PWD club with yong qiang. Ordered chicken fried rice but the bugger gave me pork fried rice instead. Yuck. Then played MVC at the arcade machines in the club. haha 20 cents per credit only.
Went back and met the dragonboaters, but went down in a T1 again to pace with the NTU boats. Was feeling quite shacked from morning training but I think I did some decent sets with them. Omigod their T2 pairs are very wudi. From start they're already 2-3 boat lengths ahead. Like wtf? I shall call them the "confused T2s" from now on because they think they are K2s and go at that starting speed hahaa.
Analyzed some of their strokes. Very very fluent twisting. geez... how much experience do these guys have? Lets see... canoeing since sec school? JC? then uni which can make a grand total of 11-15 years. I need to train harder and beat these guys.... why the heck are they in the same ivp category as the polys?!
Blah... paced with our dragonboat and haha won effortlessly :p Well, they had half a boat of char bohs and 2 new guys anyway.
All the dragonboaters went seperate ways after training. Its sad.... they don't go out to eat together anymore. That's an important thing for the team. We must never give up asking each other to go out and eat. I can't help but feel that the team is deteriorating slowly. Perhaps the momentum of any eam must die off in the end? maybe things will pick up? Maybe the team will disband, and a new group of people who have the proper drive will start a new team.
Its hard to say... poly students have such a laid back attitude... especially NYP because PE is not enforced. It should be a compulsory module damnit, don't they realized the importance of not only the physical aspects but discipline that self training or sports will just not imbue in an individual?
Geez....
Anyway, took 13 and dropped of early at boon cheong kee chicken rice stall. Was damned curious about that stall for so many years but finally went to explore it today. And whoa... not bad lei, although the chicken breast is quite tough. The uncle was thoroughly amused when I ordered another plate of chicken rice after finishing the first set with 2 extra bowls of rice.
And... I think I used up too much chakra... training in the morning and afternoon and chasing these retardedly fast people. Lungs felt very irritated when I breathed in any more than a normal breathe's capacity. Felt like coughing and almost coughed my chicken rice out while I was eating. Had to keep reminding myself to breath in veeeeeeery slowly while putting food in my mouth. Did you know that you breath in through your mouth when you put food in your mouth? And when you're damn hungry you breath in alot?
Got a sms from Esther. Ack.. no way I'd reach jurong in time... so went home.
Played UT2004 for a while... then was damn tired and collapsed on my bed and slept at 10pm. Wow, super early.
Training this morning was just as tough...
Did 250 sprints with Coach's T2 pair. Haha, led his boat by about 1 boat length. His partner isn't too experienced...
Tried to correct my stroke somewhat... feels much better. But Jag wasn't around so couldn't check how effective it was.
Then did land circuit with Sebas. Could tell he was utterly shacked already but he still pushed on, by third set he was already 10 seconds behind me. Then did pullups, 3 sets of 15 to cool down.
I dunno how to push Sebas on... he's completely comfortable being behind me in everything, which could be a good thing, because he's the backrower in our T2 pair so he has to follow mindlessly, but there's no fighting spirit like that. I need him to be as crazy as me or crazier.
Perhaps positive encouragement doesn't help. I shall try negative encouragement tomorrow.
