Training on sunday, monday, tuesday, wednesday, thursday... I'm looking forward to a nice rest today.

Yesterday's canoeing training was good. Did 2 rounds warmup, then 7... or was it 9 sets of circuit. 10X pullup, 60X crunches, 40X pushups, 15X burpies.

Pullups was fine, but I dropped that station after about the 4th set for fear of overtraining lats due to the day before's training. Crunches were fine... thought we were doing about 6 sets, so I did concentrated breathing really fast for each rep... too siong by the last few sets... I shall try to use that station to lower heartbeat next time. Pushups were disastrous - again. Saw all the guys doing non standard pushups; and it didn't help that I had wacked chest the day before too. In the end I followed Yong Qiang in doing compromised non-standard pushups... disgusting, Samantha really counts too fast. I think Ben's usual 20 pushups should be sufficient for that many circuit sets. Burpies was okie... sweat was really dripping from my nose like every time I went down.

Shacked.

The canoeing girls have my respect. Throughout all the sets, even though I was pushing the running a little in front, they managed to keep up pretty well.

Weights was next. Everyone seemed to enjoy my 1.5 litre bottle of 100 plus. Hehe... they must think I'm super kiasu or something. But its actually because I have a super excessive metabolic rate... plus a super excessive sweating rate, as Jonny said. Can even start dripping huge beads of sweat on the floor during weights. Then, if I don't replenish the minerals after sweating litre after litre, I'll get fatigued. Used to think there was something wrong with my recovery after running, but now a nice glug of isotonic will get me perked back up.

Did some thinking about splitting up the yr1s from the seniors during dragonboat training... I think that it will help be less stressful for the yr1s if they aren't trying to push up to the seniors standards right away. But then.... this is a team sport... no point for the seniors to push furthur ahead if the juniors need to catch up. But I think that its worth a try. Now that I think of it, Ben did try to assign me to lead the yr1s for running last year... but they ended up all over the place; didn't give them clear enough instructions to stay in line. My excuse to Ben: Some of them wanted to run with the seniors. Which was true... but I should have told them to stay together in the first place. Next time I'll instruct better.

Met some other guys during canoeing training yesterday. Eddie's a nice guy. He's graduated too, so I had better try and learn as much from him as possible before he goes to camp. Was right about him tho... asked him how to stretch front delt, and he taught me how. There's something about someone who knows exactly how to stretch every worked muscle after a set... you get only get that through lots of experience and referencing.

Naresh has the extremely lanky build of a runner. I keep thinking that he'll excel better at athletics than canoeing... will be quite interesting to see how he rows tomorrow.
