Canoeing in the morning was fun. Had some steering problems in the racing T1. Then when patrick asked me to swap boats with limpoh and use the starlum, my direction really went haywire because I had nowhere to kick. I hate the starlum I hate the starlum I hate the starlum. Balancing on the racing t1 was much better. Only capped once near shore when a wave parallel to my boat hit me, and once when I was trying to chase ezra during a sprinting set.

Grrr... Ezra seems to be the fastest, and the one giving commands today since Samantha was MIA. Just you wait... I'll overtake you in no time.

Ran down to united square for the piano competition after training. Alot of really good pianists were there.

I think that Jazz is overrated. Sure, its nice. Sure, it helps expression. But its still an outdone genre. Why won't people come up with their own styles instead? Heard this little guy play this spanish tune. Such an interesting concept of keys and expression. A couple of psychotic little kids playing insanely hard pieces with perfect precision and perfect accentuation and expression. But I wonder if the melody, the piece really means something significant to them? A score can be read so many times, and practiced to perfection, but then you're just playing what people have written down. You're trying so hard to perfect what this person did up in an instant. Why go through so much trouble just to be a robot?

I believe that music should be an expression of yourself. The melody, the story that you want to tell, the piece as a whole, the picture that you want to paint for the listeners.

Went and played my arrangement of melodies of life. Perhaps I'm about the only guy not playing classical, or jazz. I'm not even sure what friggin category I'd fall in. Pff... who needs a genre either.

I play reubenical. Or... Reubenicazz... hahahaha Reuclaz

Tomorrow is the finals. 6 other finalists pianists which I shall use this opportunity to learn from. Their styles shall be analyzed, and their techniques assimilated for the evolution of Reuclaz.

Every other finalist is either a grade 8er, or a diploma holder. It's already odd that I'm stuck with them. Anyway, if I win that keyboard I'm gonna put it in the piano ensem club room for the beginners class to use. Ai yun was worried about there not being enough pianos to teach on anyway.
