Missed Tianhong during yesterday's training. Missed his retarded "so slow ah" during running, and "don't swing lah" during pullups. There goes the one who set the standard for me. Now, every single guy whom I knew when I first joined the team 2 years ago is gone. So much has changed, there are new buddies now, Stephen, Jeremy, Dylon, Rendy. Sometimes I wonder if I'll be missed when I leave the team next year. Its sad how life's paths tear us away from each other time and time again. But what matters, I guess, is the period of time which we had with each other.
What am I to do?
My first brother, is gone.
Pffft... what I always do - keep busy, do things I love and stay happy.
Yesterday's training was okie, 4 small rounds around the school. I retardedly lagged behing during the final 300 metres to dash like an idiot for the last 100metres. Was so high and out of breath after that. Pushups a nd situps were insanely easy. 2 sets of 20, buahahaha. Then Ben made us seniors do circuits. WTH. Didn't lag behind too bad for running, pushups situps were a breeze, but geez... you have no idea how hard it is for a tall person to do burpees. Then... legs all woozy, ran to the pullup bar. Helped push up juniors until I ran out of breath >_<
Then, pool rowing! Yay. Got picked to be front rower by ben again. Then guided the juniors during entry/exit drills and stroke drills. Then for the 1 on 1 coaching period, Ben picked my guys, Rendy and Willy and brought them behind to coach them himself. Hehe, see Ben? Can tell they will make good rowers, right?
Alot of the new guys are doing very well, but there's this one guy, Jeffrey. Was in track and field and soccer last time. Legs very powerful, but arms ahh... powerful also lah, but dunno how to control. maybe he's trying too hard. Johan did pretty well. Then it was the seniors turn to do 3-2 minute drills. Sat in front again. Whoo... been a long time since we did minute drills. Kept fidgiting around to find my proper positioning during the first set.. then... finally. Found it. Woosh! Ahahahaha, just kept doing full pulls. Then for the last set I did the charging stroke and picked up the pace. Heard some complaint behind to "slow down." But we were going at a perfectly acceptable pace. Like Ben said: "If you cannot keep up, then something is wrong with your stroke." This is the only time that I can contribute and show the guys behind that something is seriously wrong/lacking in their stroke. Especially people like BD. Don't think your standard is there already lei, if it is, then you would be able to keep up with a faster stroke rate and maintain a powerful stroke throughout at the same time.
Going to play badminton with Jeremy, Stephen and Rendy today. Then weights.
